About Me

Snorkeling in Iceland. It was even colder then you’re thinking…

I have been a mind-wanderer since about the age I could walk and talk, if not before, and I’ve buried myself in books since not long after.

I am a lover of fantasy, sci-fi, horror, mythology, and historical fiction (and sometimes suspense, thrillers, and pretty much everything else), with a great appreciation for the classics, both ancient and modern. I read a lot of history (my B.A. is in History, with an emphasis on East Asia), some books on science, religion, philosophy, and politics.

Obviously, there’s more to me than books (important as they are!). I love traveling, playing games (TTRPGs, video games, board games), watching movies and TV, and hiking. Introvert though I may be, nothing brings me more joy than hanging out with my family and my closest chums. So, I’m a reader, gamer, and an explorer. I’m a father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and, most recently, a grandfather.

Most intimately though, at my deepest core, I’m a writer. Characters visit me out of nowhere. I’m constantly pulled into plots and places the exist only in my mind. Words and phrases wake me in the middle of the night, insisting they be put to paper for future reference. So many things make me who I am, but writing is what I am.

And writing, I can only hope, will keep my brain-box busy and my soul young, and someday (once can dream) it may even pay the bills.
